Ancestral Visions of the Future

Lemohang Mosese, 2025

A poetic and personal work by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, Ancestral Visions of the Future blends myth, memory, and fragmented narrative to explore dislocation, exile, and belonging.

Through figures like the Puppeteer, who grows life-extending herbs, and the Market Seller, who preserves the language of dreams, Mosese reflects on his childhood, his mother’s resilience, and the haunting pull of a lost homeland. More than a memoir, the film is an elegy for a people suspended between memory and loss — and a tribute to the power of cinema.
