Curated Short Film Program
La Sur Real: Edition IV
Various Directors
This program brings together six short films that speak from the margins—through memory, resistance, spirituality, and displacement. Created in the Amazon, along the Pacific coast of Ecuador, or in Northern cities by migrant and diasporic filmmakers, these works are grounded in diverse creative methods: animation, archives, rituals, stop-motion—many of them shaped through collective and community-based processes.
Together, they offer counter-narratives that challenge dominant imaginaries and reclaim cinema as a space for healing, political vision, and radical imagination. La Sur Real invites us to move across territories and timelines where other ways of remembering—and resisting—come alive on screen.
