In La Barra, a remote town on the Colombian Pacific coast, Cerebro, the leader of the local Afro-descendant community, is in a heated conflict with El Paisa, a landowner who plans to build a hotel on the beach. Daniel, a quiet and mysterious tourist, becomes stranded in the area while waiting for a boat that can take him out of the country.
