The sea route across the Mediterranean to Europe is one of the most dangerous migration routes in the world and, for many, often the last chance to escape war, persecution, and hunger. As more and more women and their children are forced to undertake this journey, midwives have increasingly become part of the crew on sea rescue vessels.

This documentary feature follows the work of one of these midwives. It gives voice to survivors and portrays the strength and courage of these women along their journey.
